War on Drugs during Reagan administration

This paper focuses on the topic of the "War on Drugs" during Reagan administration. Its main objective is to compare goals set by the Reagan administration in the "War on Drugs" in the 1980s with their consequences and analyze the means that were used to fulfill these goals, which were set for domestic "War on Drugs" and introduce its "side effects" in the socio-economic sphere as well as to determine, whether goals set by Reagan administration were fullfilled or not. By comparing the goals set by Reagan's administration in 1986 and the analyzed results of Reagan's "War on Drugs" in late 1980s I determined the success of Reagan's "War on Drugs". Relationship between values and politics in the context of civil religion

This diploma thesis is focused on the relation between values and politics in the western societies of Europe and The USA. It points out the status and role of religion in the society and compares the current secularization tendencies in Western Europe against the role of traditions in American society determined by civil religion. The study maps the influence of enlightenment on the forming of democracies, then the totalitarianisms of the 20th century and both the secularization and de-secularization in the last decades. It analyses the discussion about the role of values and civil society in secularized Europe. Finally, it describes the importance of religion for American citizens and its penetration of their entire lives both socially and culturally.

This work deals with the role of religion, ethics and values of American society. The work compares some special position of United States of America with situation in Europe. The part dedicated to American society characterized creation of this society. It shows the important role of American civil religion. There is written about the meaning of religion for American citizen and pervasion of religion through whole social-cultural life of American people. This part deals with values of American society. The part dedicated to Europe focused with Christian and Jewish roots of European cultural. There is mentioned the influence of enlightenment to creation the nowadays Europe. It treats Europe without mention of God and about Europe without the roots. The last chapter of this work compares Europe and the United States of America.
